Obtaining title for mobile home in VA

My husband passed away before we were able to retitle our mobile home. We have a title from previous owner transferring title to us. DMV says I have to have a title transferring title to myself before I can retitle. I am not able to get title transferring title to only myself. What can I do?

I am sorry to hear about your loss.

You will probably need to talk to a lawyer (Im sorry again) If the paper work has your husband and your name on it you will need to provide documentation that you are his surviving heir and are entitled under state law to inherit the rights to his property.

Your problem highlights the need for MH buyers to transfer title immediately upon purchase.
