Lost title for home in CA

We don't have a certificate of ownership for our manufactured home in CA. We paid cash for it in OR 5 years ago. CA sent us to OR and OR sent us back to CA, nobody seems to be able to help us resolve this issue. The dealer we bought it from is no longerr in business.

Purchasing a manufactured home with out getting a title is as silly as buying a car with no title. You will need to register your home in the state where you purchased the home, Y9ou purchased from a licensed dealer on OR .. even if they are out of business. OR had jurisdiction over that transaction.

Start with the state DMV. Their web site tells us to "Use this link if you have purchased a vehicle from an Oregon dealer who has gone out of business and did not provide you with a title." http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/pages/de ... aspx#apply



In OR, after May 1, 2005, responsibility for maintaining ownership information for manufactured structures transferred from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to the Building Codes Division (BCD).
