mold and airconditioning

I live in a 1986 mobile home in southern california. When the air conditioning kicks in, there is a moldy smell for a very short period of time, several seconds. I am wondering if it might relate to a roof issue. We had a lot of rain this past winter, and the seam on one side of the house leaked in one room.
Thank you for any assistance about how to resolve both of these problems.

It could be the air conditioner. When is the last time you had it serviced? That should be done at least once a year, and you should change or clean the filters monthly.
