Cavalier Single Wides
Cavalier Single Wides
We are currently looking at a variety of single wide mobile homes, but at present feel that the Cavalier may give us the best "bang for the buck". We have noticed, however, that instead of the usual tack strips between the wall panels, they have some kind of tape that matches the wallboard giving the home less of a mobile home look inside. Does anyone have a home made like this - how is it holding up? Also looking for any other pros or cons of the Cavalier home.
Re: Cavalier Single Wides
those strips are fine, but if you like to wash your walls or have small children, they will peel off.
Otherwise Cavilier builds a great home.

Re: Cavalier Single Wides
Sounds like it might be a good option. In the display models we were looking at it appeared that they were either coming off or tearing, but the salesman assured us that they are all put back on correctly once the home is set and there are no more problems after that. I think I'd rather deal with the tack strips!
Re: Cavalier Single Wides
Good thought..If the dealer cannot keep his inventory looking good..what will he do for you after he has your money,,Move on to another dealer..If they call you tell them why...
Re: Cavalier Single Wides
That is very true, and what we intend to do! This same dealer could not tell us how long it would take to get a unit if we wanted to special order it, if there would be any model/floorplan changes for 2006, or if there would be price increases with the 2006 models. He, of course, blamed all of this on the company contracting with FEMA to deliver homes for hurricane victims~!
Re: Cavalier Single Wides
I noticed that in the homes I saw..they were loose and "peeling off" too. Kind of makes you wonder how the wallboards stay put. The traditional strips don't bother me at all.
