sheetrock instalation

I would like to put sheetrock over old paneling.Do I have to put a vapor barrier between those two surfaces?Living in Florida there is always humidity,but there was no vapor barrier installed for paneling.Any input?Thanx.

Don't put a vapor barrier between the paneling and sheetrock. It would rot the paneling.
