Quality Wholsale Homes
Re: Quality Wholsale Homes
Its interesting what is being said about the Utah Consumer Protection Agency. I filed a report in Sept of 2008 the letter I got back was
"This letter is to advise you that your complaint and the investigation of Quality Wholesale Homes have been closed. After reviewing your complaint and based on the information recieved it appears that there is not a violation of the Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act." It was signed Steven Jentzsch.
A few months ago I called Steve and talked to him and he told me that there was nothing they could do other that ask them to rework their contract which they did. Last month I was told that I should call a Stuart Engrtman for the same place. I talk to him and I told him that I had filed a complaint in Sept, he looked at it and didn't understand why it was over looked. But he also told me that the most they could do was give fines which they had done, but a $2000. fine to a company that makes $100,000. is really nothing. and told me there was nothing more they could do.
I have the exact story as everyone else they asked for money emailed me the "front" of a contract to sign, and when I asked for the money back they quoted the back of the contract which I never saw nor signed. Now I don't know if its because I'm a woman or maybe because I didn't get upset and demand that they do something. I'm not a very forceful person and I sometimes get walked on. They still have my case on file But maybe I should make another one.

I recieved this email today very interesting
Hello Everyone,
Some of you I know because I was in the middle of doing your loans and others I'm sure you're in a similiar situation where you gave deposits and now the company has closed down and no one has called or written to notify you. One of my borrowers, in Utah, is meeting with an attorney this Friday to discuss the situation and was told it would probably be more effective if a group of frauded buyers was involved.
I'd like to briefly tell you what I know and see if anyone can add anything they have found out. I was told all QWH and Goldbilt Homes employees were fired last Friday at a meeting, the sales people were told it was going to be a discussion on restructuring and moving forward. I was told they had a large some of money owed and couldn't afford to go forward. There was no discussion of returning deposits to customers. I have not been contacted by anyone with either company but I tracked down one sales person that gave me this info. A borrower of mine found out that Goldbilts company address was a PO Box in Billings Montana and I was told by others the same people were listed as owners on both websites.
Have any of you been contacted by anyone associated with QWH/Goldbilt? Do any of you know of other people this has happened to that are not on this email list?
My client that is seeing an attorney on Friday said she will call me after the meeting to tell me what she has learned and she would be happy to hear from anyone regarding going forward with litigation IF it seems like something can be done.
Good luck to all of you,
Ron Smith

Re: Quality Wholesale Homes
As I wish and hope to see a refund check of my deposit in my mail box soon, I cant keep on trying to fight this.
Sorry, but this is stressing me out. I cant keep on worrying about this now since I have other more important things on my mind. Like possibly going back to school since I cant find a job in truck driving.
So when I first had or received this problem, I prayed to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ about this and laid this problem at the foot of the cross and I said that I wouldn't help God with this matter. But I have and went back and picked it up to help God with it. And He doesn't need my help.
So I'm going to allow God work on this.
I will keep everyone in the loop with what happens with us and I hope you do the same.
P.S. If I have offended anyone with bringing God into this, tough luck and get over it.

I know exactly how you feel with the stress of all this. I have been working on this for about a year, and the stress really got to me and put me in the hospital with an irregular heart beat and high pulse. Now I’m on meds' for that and anxiety. Plus I have been out of work for 1 1/2 yrs. I was really hoping for that money. I believe you are on the list of people that trying to do something about this. If not I'll kept you posted if we can find anyone listen and do a possible class action against them. to bad we can't tack on mental stress too.

Re: Quality Wholsale Homes
My name is Shelley Dally. I live in Northern CA and worked with QWH since Jan. 2008. Hold ups occured that were my county's fault, but we finally got through all paper work for the county and like an IDIOT I wired the balance of my $54,292 to QWH on MAY 4,2009. I have no home. No contact. I read this string and do not know what to do. Am consulting a lawyer. Any advice from those experienced will help me. AI get no responses of course from daughter Haily Howard who is Devon's secretary. She did email me a few times and assured me Devon would call. He did once and promised my home would be ordered in 3 weeks. That was on July 8, 2009. I am newly retired and still in shock. I will be filing complaints, but that sure doesn't seem like it has helped anyone to date. Has AnYONE recently gotten any money back???????? All I want is a HOME!! Anyone know how to get a federal prosecution going? (I see Rmurry above says this is the only way- I have no idea where to start other than filing complaints to the Attorney General in CA and Utah. Other starting points?

Shelly you are NOT an IDIOT... you are a victim. Dont blame yourself... as you can see from the length of this forum string you are in the company of many other good people that have also been abused.
We are pleased to tell you that this string has caught the attention of a well known journalist. Any of you that will agree to be interviewed, as part of the research for an upcoming article, on the business activities of QWH, please send your contact info to [email protected]

Re: Quality Wholsale Homes
PEOPLE, you must inundate (overwhelm, blast) the media, any media outlet, with letters and complaints about this company and these individuals. The best method is to get criminal judgements against the owners and principles of these companies personally, so that they cannot just move and start another "business" like Goldbilt. The Attorney Generals Office, the Utah BBB, and the Office of Consumer Protection have FAILED the very people they were charged to protect. They have known about this fraud and scam for several years and they have done little to NOTHING to help the small consumer or to stop the scam. File your complaints against the Utah BBB, the Utah Attorney General's Office, and the FTC, and the SEC, and the Consumer Protection Office. File your complaints on the Complaints Board, Rip-off report, and anywhere else where someone will listen. These agencies are there to help the consumer, and there is something wrong when 100's of folks can complain and they do NOTHING. Make a stink. Let them know how much you have been harmed! They should have warned the public about this business. This business has been a menance to the public for years.
Re: Quality Wholsale Homes
Almost every day I get phone calls from new victims. Does anyone have the time (and unlimited free long distance) willing to help me respond?
I can post their their contact information on my website http://jerkz.com so you can help them get their complaints filed with the authorities (not that this does any good).
I've filed complaints (and keep encouraging everyone else to do so) with Utah Attorney General (3 times), FTC, FBI, BBB, and received the same "canned" responses. They basically say this company has not violated any laws, and my issue with them is a private contract issue. We did go through arbitration and recovered our $5000 deposit. But now the company seems to have pulled up stakes in Utah and moved operations to Montana and (rumored) Idaho. This scam is WAY TOO PROFITABLE for these VARMINTS to simply stop.
In my opinion, the only way we can stop these con-artists is to put them behind bars where they belong! Then keep them locked up and MAKE THEM work HARD until every victim is paid back. Judging from all the complaints, this could be a life sentence for these fraudsters!!!

Regarding the post from the Webmaster above. You said that this string has caught the attention of a journalist. I was just wondering what is happening with that.
