Quality Wholsale Homes
Re: Quality Wholsale Homes
I would not want to be Quality Homes with you after me...Keep spreading the word. Glad you got your money back.Your nickname must be Bull Dog..
Re: Quality Wholsale Homes
I'll step up here and give a cautious thumbs up to Quality Wholesale Homes, although for quite a while I was on a scary ride.
The home I was delivered in 2005 was excellent. It is indeed a Fleetwood-manufactured home -- The Entertainer -- and the quality and heavily discounted price was AS ADVERTISED. I saved well over $10,000.
I did, however, jump the gun and gave them a huge deposit, thinking I was getting financing. A misunderstanding between me and the sales rep resulted in their stance that they would not refund that large deposit, and I didn't quite qualify for the inhouse financing they were just then starting to offer.
Realizing that it would be years to get my money back through legal channels, I simply put my trust in the idea that this company just wanted me to complete our first deal together. After all, I had been talking to the same people in sales and management for two years when I decided in 2005 to finally buy one of their homes.
I found a way to get them the rest of the cash, and they delivered the home as promised: On time and on budget. I hired my own contractors to finish out the home on my own acreage.
So the question remains: How long could a scam outfit last that is really out to steal your money? A few months? A year? I came to the realization that this company deals with the common problem of "cold feet" in a transaction this big, and they are determined to force you to complete what you start.
I would buy from them again, now that I know the rules of their road. Just realize Rule 1 in any business deal: You have the money. Don't give it away unless you are absolutely sure you have warm enough feet to go the extra mile and finish the deal.

Re: Quality Wholsale Homes
I to was scammed out of $ 5000. from Quality Wholesale Homes. I started trying to get my money back in July of 2008. I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau that went on for 7months the company had me sign a form saying that they would give me my money back if I signed it, that was in Dec 2008. The response they kept giving to the BBB as to where the money was “THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL” the BBB had to close the file as “unresolved”. They told me that there was nothing more that they could do. I called the Utah Division of Consumer Protection and was told that there was nothing their office could do. I have talked to another person that took them to small claims court and the company didn’t show up. They know what they are doing and how to get around the law. I talked to a lawyer and he said that most won’t take the case because to file as one person the amount of money is too small. This scam has got to STOP! I have the name of several Investigative Reporters in Utah that I am thinking about contacting also I am considering contacting NBC’s Dateline and ABC’s 20/20. The more names I get of people that have gotten scammed the greater the chance that they will listen. Maybe some negative publicly will help people get their money back. If your interested in helping me help others get their money back let me know.

I would not be afraid to drag then into small claims court....If they dont show up in court on the day of the case then they loose by default and the judge should enter a decision against them.
We have had so many people post the same lost deposit story here that this string is on its second page and there are several other strings that you can find here. If you are looking for recruits for your cause You can click on the linked name of each person that has posted to get their e-mail address.
You should also contact Utah Mobile Homeowners Action Group (UMHAG) Phone: 801-965-9522. Ask for Don. Italked to him this morning and he will be expecting to hear from you.
There is clearly an ugly pattern that home shoppers should avoid.

I'm wondering when the Utah Attorney General's office is going to get off their butt and do something about this. If it has been an interstate scam, when is the FBI or some other federal agency going to act.
I'd also hope more people would tell other prospective MH buyers about this site. When someone buys a home it is one of the biggest investments of their life, but so many seem to walk into the process without doing any research. It is so sad.
My wife and I did years of research before buying our MH and because of this site and others research, we are very happy with our home, the manufacturer, and pretty happy with the dealership.
Please folks, do your research, buy the books, and read the books BEFORE YOU EVEN WALK ON TO THE LOT.

My wife and I gave a down payment of $5000.00 to Rex Springer (sales) at Quality Wholesale Homes. Per their contract, we can cancel in 3 buisness days in writing and we did. It is now 5 weeks since we canceled and no check or phone calls.
I have heard on complaint.com that we are not alone in this matter, a lot of other people have lost money to them.

Mike -
Prepare to become a warrior if you want your deposit back. We have had more derogatory comments on QWH then all the other dealers in the country combined. I'm sorry that you didn't come here prior to dropping your cash in their hands but now that they have your money you will need to fight to get it back,
This string of posts got so long that it had to be split into 2 pages. Go back and read thru the experiences of the other folks that have posted here and learn what they went thru. You are dealing with some ugly characters. You can contact the other posters... click on their names and you will be able to get their e-mail addresses. GO to http://mobilehomeowners.org/assoc.php find your states mobile home owners association and contact them for help... Compare notes and use the tactics that worked for others. Please let us know how it goes
