replacing skirting

Post by voldo37 » Mon Aug 25, 2008 6:32 pm

Hello - I had some hail damage to my mobile home this summer and need to replace some of the skirting. The problem I am having is finding the same type of vinyl skirting that I currently have. My current skirting panels are 13 3/4 inches wide but everything I am finding is 16inches wide and interlock differently. My mobile home was made in 1992. I don't really want to replace all my skirting just to fix one side. I probably have 30 holes in the skirting on the west side and so need to replace about 20 panels. The guy I talked to today at West River Industries said it wasn't being made anymore - does anyone know if this is true? If I went with this wider skirting could I just replace all of the skirting on one side or would I have to do the whole mobile home??

Also, I am wondering about the price - he quoted me $17 for a 12ft panel which I could cut down into 6 - 24inch tall panels. When I look at the Mobile Home Parts Store website they are charging $8.69 for a panel but that doesn't include shipping. I don't know how much they would charge for shipping - anyone know how much it costs to ship these panels??

thank
Kurt

Well - I did give them a call and the shipping was pretty expensive so I think I will try and find something locally.

thanks
