footers and runners?

They set my house wrong and after some phone calls they have come back to start the fix. But to remedy the runner footer part they added a little slab across the front so they could swing one end out. Now the home will sit crooked on the runners and footers and it will leave concrete exposed on the side and back; not a big problem but the concrete has rebar and that will be hard to bust out. Not only does it seem that my house will not use all of the runners and footers like I paid for, some of the blocks that will go around the bottom do not have concrete to sit on.

On top of that when they came back to fix the problem they took their excavator into the side of the home 3 times.

I don’t want to sound like I am picking this apart but so far this seems like it has been a problem so far. The place that is doing this really talked up the setup crew. My complaint is if they would have slowed down just a little, they probably could have avoided some of these issues. Amount of time to do the runners, footers, and setup was 2 days. Amount of time I have to wait for them to fix the problems 1 week.
I am not loaded with money and I have spent a lot of money on this house and I can’t afford to make home repairs immediately.

Has your home been inspected by the local building department ?

Why did they have to rotate the home so that it is not square with the poured foundation?

What are the local regulations. Is there a requirement that all piers sit on a poured footer?

I understand your concern and I would not be very satisfied either if that was my home. The VAST majority of problems that MH owners have over the years are related to installation problems. It is critical that you get this right NOW!

You might want to consider bringing in the local building inspector or pay another licensed installation contractor to over what has been done so far and let him tell you if it meets local code and what would need to be done to insure that your home is stable.

As far as extraneous concrete that is not under the home... it seems to me that REMOVING THAT SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY of THE CONTRACTOR THAT MADE THE MISTAKE.

Stand up for what you know is right. If it was not done correctly the first time I would insist that the home be placed where I had indicated ... not on some random angle and the contractor should remove his mistakes and start from scratch.

You may not get everything you want but start with the extreme and settle for a safe stable installation.
