affordable mh in VT?
affordable mh in VT?
I have not found a NH in VT that is around 70K. I read all about people getting great prices like $40 a sq foot for ahpme over 2000 sq ft. Here I am looking at 28 x 52s and 28 x 60s and they are over 90K. Is there a decent home out there in New England/ The dealers here are not budging on their prices. I have the books and have done my research. I want to know how far I have to go to find a reputable dealer who will have a MH in my price range (that is not junk) and will have it delivered to VT.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Have you tried the FREE Home Finder service on this web site.. you knind find it here:

I assmume you have checked in neighboring states for dealers up to 200 miles away should be easily possible to deliver to you and servcice your home..You could shiop dealers in parts of PA,NY,NH,CT,RI,ME.
If all else fails Yankees are still welcome in GA, SC and AL all states where good homes can be had for $25-30/sq ft.

Re: affordable mh in VT?
I did register weeks ago but have not heard anything. I figured that the southern built ones would not have the insulation requirements that we need here in VT. Who knows of the reputable dealers in upsate NY or PA? I hate to drive a long way from home just to have someone try to rip me off. I had a dealer here in VT try to sell me a 2006 model as a 2008 model and they were supposably reputable.
Thanks for your help.

See our MH Yellow Pages for VT RETAILERS
There has been a shake down of retailers across the country. As the market tightens more of them have gone the way of the dinosaurs. This is not necessarily a bad thing as those that remain will compete harder for your business.
Check the Yellow Pages for retailers in the surrounding states while your there.

David,
I appreciate your advice. I have checked yellow pages but they do not include ratings for dealers within 200 miles. I am looking for info from people who have bought from particular dealers and their experiences. I need to be able to trust them. The BBB is not reliable because if you pay them they are no longer unbiased. One dealer is a member and has numerous complaints but the BBB rates them well.

Re: affordable mh in VT?
You will find prices in your area much higher than what are discussed on this site. Not only are the insualation and structural requirements greater, but freight is MUCH more expensive than it is in the south. Also typically the smaller the house the higher the price per square foot.
Re: affordable mh in VT?
I would still like to hear from anyone who can recommend a good dealer in New England. I am trying to sell my current property and will need to move quickly when it sells.
Re: affordable mh in VT?
OK I have waited some days now...Is there anyone on this forum who lives in New England and has had a good buying experience who will share where they bought and what they bought????
