Gutters

Post by gager238 » Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:57 am

I have just moved into a brand new 2008 Skyline singlewide home, which I bought from the owners of the park (the space is leased through them). I notice that some of the homes in the park have gutters, but many do not. I need to know if I should be putting gutters on the home to save the siding, or are they not really a neccessity for this type of home?

If there is any overhang on the home then the gutters may not be a necessity. I dont like gutters as they require constant cleaning. If there is no overhang gutters will help to keep rain water from cascading down the siding... regardless of the type of siding a regular flow of water over the surface will eventually become problematic. Windows, doors and siding seams will be more likely to admit water inside if directly exposed.
