Hardwood or Laminate

Post by mmay269965 » Sat Nov 17, 2007 7:40 am

I have a 2005 32X65 Patriot Crystal Valley. The floor decking is some sort of MDF, my question concerns new floor covering. I know I can install Laminate, but can I install hardwood with out any problems? I would really hate to shoot a nail into a water line etc.

Any help or comments appreciated

If your talking about pre-finished hardwood strip flooring it is not likely that you would hit a water line. Most instructions for this type installation call for 2 inch nail gun nailing. YOu need to adjust to the thickness of your existing floor. Make sure that you use nails that are of a length that wont penetrate beyond the depth of the new flooring and the existing floor. Penetrating beyond the bottom of the original flooring wont add any additional griping power.
