I have a shingled roof and wood siding and want to put up gutters. Which kind would you recommend, vinyl or aluminum? I think vinyl gutters would be easier for me to install, but I've heard they won't withstand harsh winter weather. What's your opinion?

From my experience in Northern climates (North Dakota and Montana), Vinyl doesn't seem to last as well. My suggestion would be for seemless aluminum. That provides a maintence free system and avoids caulking seems
