All good salespersons will ask questions...It is his job to help you buy a quality home at the best price he can offer and not waste your time...Your answers should be honest and maybe a little vague...If asked how much cash you expect to spend..a good answer would be that you have been shopping for a while and you understand that homes in the size and quality range you want will be in a price range ( example...80 to 100 K)..Tell them you are prepared to pay what ever it takes to get what you want in the size you want...Then ask him/her to explain what they have to offer and why you would be best to buy from them...Cash buyers are the hardest to sell and you will intimidate them...They are soooo used to how little down and what is the payment talk..and what kind of credit do I need...Just remember you are the rare gem of a customer and the sales person might not know how to act...If you are uncomfortable with one..ask to speak to the owner or general manager...Do not worry about feelings....Remember time is money and prices will go up over time...get all your quotes in the form of a purchase agreement and approval from management...Be sure all details are specified clearly...Ask for a site evaluation for the final complete price..
By the way I do NOT wear gold jewlery....Good Luck with your quest....

Re: grissom buyers guide
According to Mr. Murray's posting on April 14, 2007 Clayton Homes purchased Franklin. When did this occur? I have Mr Grissim's books, but from 2006 and they have them listed seprately.
Re: grissom buyers guide
I am sorry..I may have mispoke..I recently went through the Clayton employment process and thought I remember Franklin mentioned as a Clyton Family of homes...
Clayton does own Clayton, Crest, Shult, Marlette, Golden West, Norris, Oakwood, Karston, Giles and SE....
Clayton looks like the largest dealer for Franklin, Which is probably why I got the idea they might have owned Franklin..Point is that Clayton is in a large expansion phase in the SE and almost all builders will probably be Clayton owned soon..No one in the industry would have ever thought SE ownership would have sold at any time soon...
Sorry..Franklin is a good home..buy yours soon...
