Recalled Water Lines (gray pipe)

Post by Henry Wild » Thu Apr 19, 2007 6:57 pm

What years did the MH Industry use this 'BAD' gray pipe?
Is there a name on the pipe?
I'm looking at older MH in DELAWARE to buy for retirement and I've heard some talk of years ago some really bad plumbing. HELP PLEASE

I think you might be referring to polybutylene pipe...Not all manufactured homes used this pipe..just like not all stick built homes and apartments have this kind of pipe...

You should have a professional home inspector inspect the home you are looking at..He will be able to tell you what kind of plumbing the home has ands its apparent condition...He will also spot any other hidden defects you should know about..

This web site offers some info on the pipe itself..
