Foamboard insulation in ceilings and walls
Foamboard insulation in ceilings and walls
Hi, I live in sunny Arizona and have a 1976 double wide MH. Damage to the ceiling started happening long before we bought it via the evap. coolers on the roof (whoever thought that was good for MH's ought to be shot!). Through the years, more leaks occured and the ceilings are now hanging in spots and showing bulges and stains in others. I would like to remove the worst areas as well as the corrupted pink insulation which is shot and install foamboard insulation with expandable foam to fill in. Would I still need to put some sort of board to cover for roof sturdiness, or could I just leave exposed? I also plan to put the foamboard & expandable foam in the walls, removing the ugly paneling then covering with new board and doing the spackle and paint treatment as described in the Aberdeen tape I bought. Does anyone see any problem with the insulation as described? I have heard that it works good and actually insulates better. Thanks all.
