Pricing a Off Fram Modular vs. True Modular

Post by Cass » Tue Feb 06, 2007 2:21 pm

Hello, We ahve purchased both of the recommended books for buying a manufactured home and the one for buying a modular home and still have a question about making an offer on an off frame modular. The books are full of very good information but we are purchasing a 2007 Clayton Off Frame modular and from my reading of these books it appears that this is one of the homes that has been upgraded to be a Modular and to me doesnt quite fit into any of the methods of determining a fair value for the home. We are ready to make an offer on the home to be built but dont know if the difference is 5% modular or 30% manufactured.

Any help would be appreciated.

Off frame IS a true modular home....I have not read the books so the discussion of %'s is confusing...To determine value, shop competing brands and compare features and size to tell which is best for you...With a modular..the delaer/builder is everything..try to be sure they are using a very experienced set crew..Foundation and set crew is everything.....Good Luck with your new home...
