My Husband and I purchased a home in a MH community 3 years ago. When we purchased this home we were told that this would be reported on our credit history and even had a signed letter stating so. To this date we have nothing from them reported on any of the major credit agencies. They have continued to tell us every 3 months that they will be reporting it for 3 years now, today we found out that they are not going to at all and its their company right to do so or not. We were mislead into the purchase of this home by their false promises. This is truly affecting us as no one wants to give us credit because we have nothing on our credit report. What can we do at this point? We are contacting the BBB and our local NEWS station to look into this. Is this normal MH business practices?? We have never been late with our payments and before purchasing this home we were approved for a smaller home in a different community that would have been reported to the credit bureau, they were ligitament. This is truly a shame as the company we financed through has 153 communities in different states and you would think they would be large enough to report customers purchases.
Thanks for listening,
Sherry

Re: Home Loan
I am totally sure they would report you if you did not pay....Have you talked to the credit b's about having them add this lender and your payment record to their files????...I think they have to add lenders on your request after they verify the information witrh the lender...Many smaller lenders do not spend the money to report gfood credit but waste no time reporting problems..I have seen this with small local banks many times..
Re: Home Loan
Disputing inaccuracies on your credit report can sometimes be part of managing your credit. Some consumers will find the process simple and quick. For others, it may prove more complicated, as it often depends on the cooperation of the creditor that reported the information to the credit bureau.
Start by getting a Free Credit Report Here. To dispute inaccurate information on your Equifax, Experian, or Trans Union credit report, write to the bureau that supplied the information and use the address provided. Enclose a photocopy of your credit report
The Fair Credit Reporting Act protects consumers in dispute situations, mandating that credit reporting agencies must respond to your dispute by initiating an investigation and collecting evidence (where possible) from your creditors. If the information is inaccurate, the Reporting Act protects consumers in dispute situations, mandating that credit reporting agencies must either remove or correct the disputed information, usually within 30 days.
