If you read my 7/23 post you'll see that yes, you probably can. However, it would be much cheaper to buy a different home if it's a single wide. If you live in a larger town you'd have to first check with the planning and zoning committee to see if it could even be approved and what the permits would cost. You'd also have to find a lender willing to finance the project. It's not cheap. Then find a contractor that has experience in this. All the renovation Gods were smiling on us. It all went through just fine for us and we have a working powder room and an almost complete media room under our home in our new basement. This is not a project for those who are uncomfortable or have no skills in diy projects.
