Re: Rock foundation
thanks, for the info. I thought the labor and the material were kinda strange, usually one is alot more than the other. I did get my estimate from a local guy, the problem where I live (TX) it just seems to me-no one wants to work around here. I have put in several calls to get estimates and he is the only one that actually turned in a written one. Do you think I am looking in the wrong direction? I tried going thru mobile home services in the area, then masonry contractors, maybe I am looking in the wrong place? We live 70 miles north of Austin so its not in the middle of nowhere, but it is a small rual area.

your going to really get a kick out of this, I work for a general contractor and we cant find anyone who does this type of work in this area. The dealers in this area are not interested in assisting someone they are not going to make $ off of. I am not trying to be sarcastic either, I started with the dealers and finally got the one mason to call me-he was a friend of a friend ..but thanks for the advise.

The most substantial skirting system around is System-1 skirting by Hoffman Concrete. System-1 is what skirting should be- 100% solid concrete. System-1 is not an imitation or a look alike – it is the original concrete skirting system that resists the elements from the summer heat of Texas to the harsh winters of Minnesota. System-1 is built to last and is designed to stay put for years of dependable service.

Great minds must think alike! We have already gotten a quote from system one for materials and install. (around 5K) not a bad price for all of it imo.
The only downside I cand think of is there is no structrual support-wich I think we would of gotten with rock/footers/etc.
I think we are going to go with it, I have requested a sample so we will see! I will let ya all know when we get it. Does anyone here have this installed?
