Why the New Format??

Why have they changed to the forums format? That was a poor choice that ruined a good thing.

I might try to answer that..As a board moderator I have had all messages e-mailed to me..I have seen every attempt to post that has been in the last 7 months..This board was a free instant post forum..It seemed to start about 6 months ago with large numbers of spam posts some even in Eastern Asian languages...The web master had to first go to a 24 hour delay to give him time to delete the junk spam before it got on the board...Some hacker must have gotten a script program to be able to auto post..Each offending post had to be individually be reviewed and approved or deleted...For some months it was only about 100 per day...But about 3 weeks ago the spammer upped his attempts to get onto the board..All of a sudden there were thousands of spam posts attempted per day...The day before the webmaster redid the boards it was as many as 5000 posts per hour..The only way to control this mess was to change the boards to a registration process..So all posts were made by real people...I saw many of these spam posts..None of which you would have appreciated..As a matter of fact the proverbial drunken sailor would have blushed with the vile stuff they were trying to post here...We all should be grateful to the webmaster for devising a system to save the thousands of great posts listed here..The archive of thousands of questions and answers is a valuable resource for those researching manufactured homes. Many other folks in his seat would have just eliminated the boards all together...Thanks for registering and asking...Please come back often..

I had sort of wondered what happened too but now that it's been explained it is very much appreciated.

I have always enjoyed reading and posting on your forums and I just want to say thanks for a great service!
