I will be replacing the floors in an MH that was built sometime in the mid 1980's. .
The old flooring has gotten very spongey. Can I put down new plywood over the old particle board or should I take up all the old particle board before I put the new plywood down? Can I use 1/2" plywood or should I use 3/4" plywood. I have done a lot of building but am not familar with what should be done in an MH. Any info would be greatly appreciated
Replace floors in MH
Re: Replace floors in MH
I'd pull it all out (thus taking care of any moisture issue) and then use 3/4" exterior plywood.
Re: Replace floors in MH
Thanks Mac for your reply. I will pull up all the old particle board before installing the new plywood. I have one more question. Can I put down a clear vapor barrier before I put the plywood down to keep moisture from getting to the plywood ? Thanks for your help.
