Double Wide by combining 2Single MH

we own SW Mh with our own land. is it possible and feasible to connect 2 single wide mobile homes and create DWMH.

In my opinion, not easily or inexpensively, though it has been done. To have a legal residence that you could later sell, you would likely need it to be approved by the county or state. That would take engineering work that could cost a couple to a few thousand dollars.

On the other hand, if you were going to simply live in them, what about putting them almost side-by-side and building a couple of connecting breezeways? Sounds like a fun project!

This has been common in the rural areas in the past...But now most areas have building and zoning laws that would forbid this project..before you get too deep in this project...check wtih your local building inspector or zoning office..

Why not work with a local dealer to trade in your single wide for a double wide?

do to taking them apart, redesigning the two homes then putting eveything back together it would be cheaper to give the single wide to a charity or sombody in need and have them move it themselves and order a new double wide built to what you are looking for. ( but that wouldn't be as much fun now would it.)

I have a plan to combine 6 singlewides attached with breezway type buildings at ends and in middle to create a Spanish style court in the middle with single roof. Basement under main building. Hollowed out one for a nice garage and work room another for a sunroom with sliding glass doors on the court side. On private land. I don't think taking out the whole sides to combine would work for me but I love this. The Kitchen areas in each accomodates wet rooms like hot tub in exercise room and walk in bar etc. Think the idea was from "tobacco building" architecture.
