Winterization

Post by Dan » Tue Oct 25, 2005 6:00 pm

Hello everyone....I've owned my Commodore double wide as a seasonal home for 6 years now ( in the Catskills) and each winter I've kept the heat on by lowering the thermostat to 45 degrees. The propane gas company installed a device that monitors the house temperature which automatically calls them if it gets too cold. They then come out to check out why the temperature dropped. This winter I would like to close up the house for the winter (why pay for propane when I'm not there) but I've never winterized it and I'm looking for step by step instructions on how to do this. Is there a booklet out there that I can buy or can someone tell me how it's done? Thanks

When do you need to winterize the home? This week I'll be publishing a short article on winterizing.

I too am concerned about winterizing my manufactured home. In particular the water in the piping between the hot water heater and the faucets - how do you get it out?
Thanks
