Washing outside of home

Post by Mary » Mon Sep 19, 2005 8:26 pm

I am wondering if one could wash the outside of the home (a double wide with what I think is vinyl siding) with a bucket, Simple Green, a deck brush, and a garden hose.

I think I read somewhere in these forums that a woman in Kentucky does this every year, but I can't find the posting.

Does anyone have any advice on this? My son is willing to help me, and we'd take it pretty slow..... I am a bit afraid of power washing and wrecking something, and I can't really afford to hire a power washer person.

No problem, but do refrain from shooting water inside the wall from underneath (pointing the hose upward). That ought to work just fine. If you had moss growing on it, a mild bleach spray a day before washing will kill it.
