We just bought our first modular mobile home, the problem that we noticed is that were the seem is the vinyls is riped plus on the wall is riped also , in some places it has bubbled under the vinyl near the seem.
What do to.
is it a very big job to remove that vinyl on the walls, we looked behind the vinyl and it looks like they just put in on the drywall, there does not seem to be a primer on the drywall.
We really do not want to removed it if its going to take half the drywall off,
Help, any suggestion to this problem.
vinyl wall problem!
Re: vinyl wall problem!
The drywall comes with the vinyl adhered to it. No way to remove it without damaging the drywall.
Not a real easy way to cure the problem unless you have access to some of the same panels (slim chance). I'd probably paint the room. Before painting the room, you'll want to scrape off the loose vinyl and than mud in the spots to hide any lines before painting.
Good luck!

paint the wall...... any sort of texturing? I've been considering it myself, but not sure if I would have to add texture after scrubbing the walls with tsp.....

Re: vinyl wall problem!
I have the same vinyl covering drywall in my kitchen, the previous owner had painted over in a flat white......when trying to wipe off a spot behind the stove I found the paint came off leaving a spot of the vinyl showing through.......So, I got a huge bucket of pre-mixed drywall compound at Home Depot & attempted to make the walls look better, I thinned it out with water till like oatmeal, then sponged it on using an old sea sponge, let it dry, added several more coats over a few days time allowing for drying & then LIGHTLY sanded off the peaks....it looks great, it is a very messy job but looks so much better than than awful vinyl. I plan on painting it with a satin finish latex.....I also filled the seams with drywall compound & let that dry first, it has to be filled to level with the surrounding wall.
