Nails and glue
Nails and glue
When we workers went under my home and cut the under belly open,We found a lot of missed nails. Will the glue be enough without the nails to hold the decking to the 2x6 ? I am thinking it would still need the nails ,And even if the glue would be strong enough it would need the nails until the glue dried to hold the decking to the 2x6 to make a proper bond.
Re: Nails and glue
Most likely enough nails hit their mark that it held the wood in place long enough for the glue to dry. Glue can be stronger than nails. That's the thing about air nailers -- workers tend to shoot way more than they need too.

Re: Nails and glue
They missed 10 or more in a row in lots of places. When they cut a bad place in the bathroom floor out the decking had no glue or nails in one of the 2x6 Also in one room you could hear the floor slapping the 2x6 when you steped on it and We have two places that shake real bad when walked on . They added some extra 2x6 in the shakey places but did not nail the decking to the new ones so it still shakes. The home is on concrete and has been checked and found to still be level. How close do the nails need to be? They re nailed one room and placed the nails about 1 inch apart. I would think this would weeken the decking.
Re: Nails and glue
I would think you would have to have nails or clampr on the wood until the glue dried to make a good bond. But I am not an expert so see what the pro on this site tell you. They are sharp and know the rules
