Poor heating/cooling airflow

Post by Mischelle Hamilton » Thu Jun 09, 2005 9:29 am

I have a 1996 double wide MH that we have lived in for 7 years now. Up until last winter, one of the back bedrooms was the most comfortable rooms in regards to temperature. It was always perfect and is located closest to the furnace/air-conditioner.

Last winter, however, we noticed that it was always much colder than the rest of the house and this summer proves to be true for the heat.

What may have happened to dramatically alter the airflow to that room as it seems almost non-existant when you place your hand over the register. We've visually looked doen into the vent the best we can to see if there is any blockage and non are visible. What can I do next?

I am by no means an expert, but we had a similar problem with one of our floor vents. My husband had to crawl under the home and take off the connection to inspect. He found an obstruction caused by some paper! Problem solved.

Animals will sometimes chew and make nest in ducts.
