leaks around roof vents

Post by Steven » Sat Jun 04, 2005 6:00 pm

I live in an 8 year old manufactured home. The roof has recently developed leaks
around several of the roof vents. What would be a reasonabel price to expect to pay to r&r the vents and replace shingles? Would I be better off replacing the e
ntire roof?

I live in a three year old home and My vents started to leak last year along with my skylight. I went to lowes and bought some roof patch and a puddy knife and smeared that around the vents and light. It worked wonderfully. Total cost was $25. If your roof is still in good shape you may want to try this. Replacing a roof in my neck of the woods cost about $5000.00. Thats for my 28x60. Hope this helps ya!

Lewis, I took your advise and bought a gallon of leak stopper and sealed between the edge of the skylight and shingles. Just had very heavy rains here and It didn't leak!!!!!. I am going to go up there again and seal around all vents and furnace stacks. Thanks
