Great feedback on this thread, I appreciate it. Sounds like I would be well advised to stick with the manufactured home furnace. The difference in $$ really isn't worth the potential hassle and safety issues.

I don't see the problem with the cost factor.
I also buy, recondition & sell MH's including repos. Furnaces for MH's cost less than house furnaces and they FIT!!!!.
However I always replace gas water heaters with fast recovery electric heaters. That saves lots of headaches.

What about putting a propane furnace in the basement of a manufactured home. My basement is 32' x 70' and 10' height. I am building several room in basement and want to add an additional furnace to heat basement ( with walkout )
