Can lag bolts be tightened?

Post by Jodi Delaporte » Tue Oct 26, 2004 9:35 pm

My 1986 Fuqua was hit by 2 of the storms in Sept. 04. The house has separated about 3/4" at the top where the house joins together. You can see the two sides separating about a 1/4" on the inside as well. I have tried about 8 companies to come out and give me either an estimate to correct this problem or tell me it can't be done in which place my insurance company will take the house. As of today, I'm still in the same situation. The entire roof has to be replaced and I do not want to start until the lag bolt situation is taken care of. I live in South Brevard County, Florida. Does anyone know a contractor or have suggestions? Please e-mail me above.
Thx.

Probably need to start with releveling the home and see if that corrects anything. Tightening the bolts on the roof would be easiest to do while the roof is being redone. Otherwise I don't have any contacts for contractors in your area.
