Adding Covered Porch

I would like to have a covered porch added on to the front of my manufactured home. Is this possible and will the insurance frown on this?

Makes no difference, since you aren't attaching it.. Once built, you could move the home completely off the property and the porch would still be there.

FWIW, the porch I mentioned was 10x12. I used 2x8@16" OC for the floor joists and 2x6's for the floor. a 4x4 post at each corner, plus one in each middle except on one side, where I used 2. and then 1 in the very center of the flooring. I then used 2x4@16" and covered it with the white plastic roofing panels. This thing is sturdy, didn't even lose a roof panel during Ivan.

Oh, materials were about $700 or so, using all pressure treated wood, and I built it over a weekend.

It's best for all parties if the porch is not attached to the home.
