Does anyone have tips for installing conventional exterior (front, back, side) doors on a MH? Just need to know if there are any particular pitfalls in the process. Also, any good sources for conventional-quality doors at a decent price?
Thanks.

Installing Conventional Exterior Doors
Re: Installing Conventional Exterior Doors
Hi, finding one to fit will be your biggest obstacle. Most convential doors will not fit a MH. So your options are to extend your door opening or cut down the door to fit. There are instruction on cutting down a door at www.mobilehomerepair.com and click on the Articles link on the toolbar. Your other option is to install a regular MH door. Tom
Re: Installing Conventional Exterior Doors
A regular door is going to be a better value in the long run. Mobile home doors like anything made for a mobile home is going to be very costly. It would be cheaper to go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a "normal door" and make it fit. We haven't got any of the doors or windows that came with our home at this time. We did have to make the holes taller and wider to make them fit but it increased the practicality and the appearance ten fold not to mention the increased r value. Our old doors were so light that one could pick them up with one hand. Our new doors have windows (one that opens so we don't need a screen) and one with leaded glass.
