Thanks for your response .. my roof is metal and the hole is about the size of a fist, so I am trusting that the tape will do the job .. and keeping my fingers crossed.

I am surprised too see no references to repaiiring hurricane damage (or did I miss something?). In the Lee /Collier County area of SW FL , I have only found oneoutfit that will even talk to me. I can understand the overload but wonder why good businessmen wouldn't at least return phone calls. Trying to even identify outfits capable of doing repairs is next to impossible.

Anyway, the one outfit I talked to recommended a "peel and seal" tape to use to cover the hole punched iin my roof and some separated seams. This tape has a highly addhesive backing and reportedly will keep out the rain until it can be fixed in late Dec or Jan. Any comments would be appreciated.

Frank, if the folks post the questions, we answer them. There have only been a handful of questions asked from people in the Florida area. Most are talking about just what you posted, difficulty in finding someone to work on the home. Its a double edged sword. Its tough finding Mh repairman under normal circumstances, the hurricane damage has only compounded the problem. There are not enough repairman to go around in your area to start with considering the amount of MH's, so you see the problem.

Peel and seal is good if the hole is not too large. If the hole is much bigger than your fist, then I would try another method, like tack up a piece of plywood and seal the heck out of the edges with caulk. If its a metal roof you could possibly rivet a piece of metal over the hole and caulk the heck out of it. The tape would probably work well with the seams. There are probably other ways to accomplish this, so hopefully others will post their ideas. Tom

Look in your phonebook yellow pages under Manufactured Homes/Parts/Service. If your in a small town, it may be necessary to go to the next larger one to find a service company. Tom

are you releveling a single wide or a double wide. If it is a double wide have they said anything about future problems? We found someone to relelvel ours if they decide not to total it.
