Hi. My family owns a 1994 Clayton 80x25 3 bedroom, 2 bath mobile home. It's held up well over the years except for a few things.
Sink Drains: Had to be repaired twice, one still leaks (This summer we'll tear it out and put in a bigger sink and new pipes)
Doors: Very shoddy workmanship in the framing, it's all 1/8" poplar trim, the striker bolt holes were not dug out far enough (Possibly because they would have gotten into the sheetrock). The doors themselves are okay, although two are somewhat crooked, but the knobs are total junk. They're the standard brass-plated whitemetal doorknobs with the plastic striker bolt housing, and I recently had to replace several of them, having finally found a suitable replacement (Most knobs are too thick to fit the doors).
The appliances included have held up well and all still work
The furniture was extremely poor quality, but once again, this is trailer furniture.
Other than that, this has been a good house. We have no roof leaks, no entry holes for mice (although if one gets through the door, he can get anywhere, because the cabinets are not fully framed in. The portions hidden behind the stove have no boards, so the mouse can crawl in between the stove and the cabinets and get in.
Any advice/ideas/complaints regarding this home and its' manufacturer?

Lincoln, what sort of comments are you looking for? Are you asking if this is normal wear and tear issues, or is your home more trouble than most? Tom
Re: Mobile Home Problems
lets see....10 years of living...2 sink drains needed repair..a couple of door knobs need replacing..
Furniture that should not be sold with a home in the first place only lasted about 10 years...
Sounds pretty good to me...Very few homes would have had fewer problems in this length of time..

Re: Mobile Home Problems
We have a 1986 Fuqua 28' x 70' double wide. It is less than we hoped. We've owned it since 1997 and have had a lot of trouble with it. The worst is that we are now infested with mice. They've gotten into the sheet insulation under the house and everything is contaminated. To make matters worse, they're deer mice; carriers of hanta virus. We are not sure how to proceed. Any ideas?
Re: Mobile Home Problems
Call an exterminator. A large infestation is beyond store bought remedies. You must plug all holes in the skirting and belly or your wasting your money on the exterminator. Tom
