Faucet Size

Silly question but are the faucets in the bathroom sinks and kitchen "normal" size so you can go to the local hardware store and purchase replacements? I have a 2001 model home.

In every case I have seen. Easy to change. I spotted a nice one for my kitchen sink; it took 10 minutes to install.

I recently changed my kitchen faucet and my master bathroom faucet. I bought Delta faucets from Lowe's for both. The weird thing is, the faucets are "standard" size, but the kitchen sink is smaller than what is available at Lowe's or Home Depot.
I have never done any type of plumbing work, and was able to change out both faucets with no trouble.
