Daughters MH had a flood and need the floor replaced.
Economically what is the best plywood to use and what is under the old plywood?

Measure the thickness of your current flooring by pulling up a floor vent. Any style of plywood will work, use the best you can afford. Underneath will be floor joists and plumbing. You will also have to remove any water and wet insulation from the belly and repair that also. If your interested there is a self help book on MH floor repair at www.mobilehomerepair.com Click on the books and parts link at the site. Tom

Most homes use either plywood or partical board and come available in different thickness. Find a "UNSWELLED" part of the floor and measure the thickness. If you leave the base cupboards and fixtures in place you will have to clete between joists to allow the new floor to be ancored down between joists. Remember to leave a gap between decking joints to allow for swelling or you may see bowing in the floor if the lumber was overdryed. Allow any wet floor joists you have to completely dry before you attemp repairs.
