Floor Vents

Post by Freddie » Wed Sep 10, 2003 10:28 am

I have a 1999 manufactured home that has a residential style roof. I would like to change my heating & air condition vents from the floor to the ceiling. Is this possible, and what would be resonable costs?

To be honest, I can see absolutely no cost effective reason to do this modification. It would be very expensive for one, and the other point is that in order to do any repairs to the duct, the ceiling would have to be taken down. Some manufacturers are now offering ceiling ducts, I say no thanks. Tom

Tom and Anyone Else,

Thanks for your input. I was thinking of installing overhead stairs in the master bedroom's walkin closet. I don't like the limitation of furniture placement with the floor ducts. Do you think I could make thes modications without changing the furnace and use round flexible duct work?

I can tell you this what ever you use will have to be fabricated and MH approved. I would suggest you speak with a local MH parts/repair shop who deals in Furnace repair/installation. They should be able to give you a clearer picture of what your up against. Tom

Thanks Tom for your input.

Now all I have to do is find a reputable MH Service person.
