water around home
water around home
we just bought our home in sept 2002 and had it placed on an unimproved lot. i noticed now that we seem to have water settling around the skirting after it rains. i also noticed some green mold on the ground in these areas. we are planning to take the skirting off and put some dirt under the home and in these low areasaround the home ,question is: what type of soil would be the best for these areas? i thought about sand? also, is this an error in set up and would i have any luck in asking the company about this matter since purchase included set up?
Re: water around home
The home should be set so that there is NO water under the home...Your dealer is obligated to set the home to the requirements of the set up manual and my bet that this is covered in the manual....
Re: water around home
You didn't say where the home is located. In California there's a law,
Section Title 25, that requires a lot to be graded before installation so water
"Cannot" puddle under the home.If you live in Cal., you can call the
Ombundsman @: 800-952-5275. If you don't live in Cal., check your local
city/county building/code enforcement office. Usually, cities/counties need
a permit for installation & the inspector is supposed to check these things
before signing it off. Mold is very serious & can eventually cause you illness
& the home to need very expensive repairs. Write letters to the installer &
get written answers. Conversation is worthless in court. Seems whoever
sold to you should give written answers also.
