l958 Arrow Mobile Home

Post by Deiddrich Lawrenz » Wed Feb 02, 2005 6:47 pm

My husband and I are trying to locate an affordable mobile home, preferably in a rural area.

we have located the aabove l958 Arrow, tear drop style, propane fridge, stove and lights (I am told they workl). The asking price is 600.

We are about to purchase this, but I am absolutely new to mobile homes and know nothing.

Will an older home be accepted in most trailor parks?

any information will be appreciated. My husband is scheduled for out patient surgery in March, and I would like us to be settled by then.

Thank you.

Most parks do set an age limit on the homes they permit. The home your talking about was built prior to the adoption of the HUD code that regulates the construction of manufactured homes so there is no telling how it was built. many homes in those days were build very well to go over the road all the time, others were built poorly.

For $600 I would not expect anything to work. Moving and set up, in most parts of the country will cost over ten times what you are paying for the home. You might do better to look for a resale in a park that you like. A good starting point... Check out the MH Multiple Listing Service for homes for sale near you.

I am looking for a small lot for sale to put a mobile home on. It must be in Tifton Geoargia. I would like to pay under $1,000 for the land.

Thank you, Renee

That sounds like a very low price... well it would be in the market where we live. What are lots zoned for MH selling for and what sizes? Are there lots available in Tifton or do you have to get outside of town to find a good spot for your home ?
