champion homes

i purchased a 2005 champion, home of legends, in oct 2005 and of this date 2-13-06 i have still not moved in due to several problems with the home. i have been very patient with the dealer and the manafacture about these problems. i told the dealer that i would rather let them get all of the problems fixed before i moved in so i would not have to be their when they worked on the house. i have spent alot of time and travel expense,(gas, vacation time and wear and tear on my vehicle, trying to get the dealer and the service department for champion homes in guin alabama to resolve these issues. they all have excuses why they haven't finished with the home, hurrican katrina is the biggest on of all. i bought the home in good faith, paid for it in good faith, and im making the payments in good faith, but it is very obvious to me that im they only one suffering from this experience. i have wall's busted, bowed walls, bowed ceiling, bowed floors, missing window screens, warped door and door frames, sqeaking floors, doors won't remain open on their own, plumbing doesn't work properly, no air conditioner, underpinning and outside faucets that have been paid for. the insulation under the home is torn, the house isn't together properly etc. the home was moved down a gravel road without the ends of the home being covered therefore leaving the home full of dust and dirt.

im making 2 house notes and because im afraid to sell my house i live in now because i don't have any idea when these problems will be fixed, or if they ever will be fixed. i have done all i can do without the help of someone out their that can direct me to an individual in the chanpion home chain that i can contact that will help. the web site i found for champion doesn't give a listing of point of contacts nor does it have a place to email your complains to. if someone could help this matter i would greatly appreciate it thanks paul

You are going to have to decide soon...move in the menufactured home and fight or move on...Have you called the SSA in your state...You have not mentioned which state you are in but you can find them in the Yellow pages here....They will concern them selves with HUD violatrions...which the floors, walls screens are all HUD violations...They will come and inspect the home and order the plant to repair them..This would be an important step when moving toward legal action..thier report will be expert validation of your dissatisfaction and the problems....

The SSA will not have much to do with contract violations..but most states do have a separate agency that deals with licensing and they will address contract fraud...)Collecting money and not delivering)..If you will post your state I will help you find the right agency to call...

Champion is a large builder..They just annouced a very profitable 1/4...Some at your expense..Your owners manual should have complaint proceedures listed in the back...You could always call these folks in the home office for guidance to the regional plant manager...

My husband and I are looking to purchase a Champion Home of Tennesse (Innovation 724). I'm almost scared to even continuing to consider a mobile home. Need info on champion and the quality of homes it sells. Thanks.

Is Champion Homes the manufacturer of Homes of Legends? I have a 1998 Homes of legend 16x80 and have had nothing of problems with it. My roof has been leaking since year one. I called the manufacturer and they would say it was the shingle company and the shingle company would say it was the other. Never got anywhere with it. I had a licensed contractor try to fix part of the roof that was leaking the worse and he told me that I would have to completely redo the roof. That said, there is all kind of damage to the walls inside. Is there any recourse to get this repaired or anything? I have tried for 8yrs and have gotten no where. I can't even trade for anything it is so bad. I also have 3 young kids in this mold and mushroom ridden place. Please help.
