Hi. I posted a few questions on one of the other forums. I notice they dont put your email address but what i assume is an identifier to the site. I received an email loan enquiry at my Yahoo email. My question is how is this done? How did he get my real email address? A reply to one of my questions invited me to email him for more info as he is the area we are moving. How do I do this? Hope this is not a silly questions. Thanks for the answers. I really appreciate the availabilty of these forums.

If you enter your real e-mail address in the post...when anyone clicks on your name...the one that is blue and underlined..it will open an e-mail with your address already in place..

It is a good system that allows others to communicate with you directly..but does not allow spam robot e-mail address software get your address...

Eh, mailto tags are the primary way email addresses are harvested from webpages, as it the quickest way to identify an address from other text.

But, like murray said, you entered your email address, which everyone can see, someone read the post and replied with commercial offerings. Such actions are usually frown upon on most forums, but commercial replies seem to be fairly common here.
