Modular vs Double-wide
Looking for info , advantages for modular and double-wide which is the better value? Would appreciate experienced replies. Thanks!

We were going exclusively DW, but ran into the following problems:
1) Couldn't find a quality manufacture who combined the floor plan and the upgrades we wanted
2) Difficulty finding comps that would provide a workable number for financing
3) Perception. You, I, everyone on this board knows the quality of many homes (DW) built today. But many people still think of them as mobile homes, this can hurt resale values.
Because of 1) and 2), we had to go modular. $20,000 more, but included a basement instead of a crawlspace. Given the headaches going through the DW process (talked to ~20 dealers around central NY, amazing the lack of knowledge they have about their product), we wish we had gone modular from the start.
