We also are looking at an Indies House in Hot Springs,Ark. Dealer says this floor plan has been on his lot for awhile & offered it to us for $68,900. It's a 32x80 supposedly with upgrades. 30 R insulation in ceiling, tile floor in master bath & foyer, drop level kitchen, maple cabinets, oval glass front door, etc. I thought this was still a little high & he couldn't produce the upgrade spec sheet so I'm a little concerned. He had sworn there were plywood floors but turned out to be OSB.

I bought a 2006 Indies 16x80 in Denham Springs, La. from Sanders Mobile Home. Like it very much, but with the sheetrock sprayed ceilings, it has several cracks from transport. Also a window got cracked during transport to me. I have been trying to get this repaired since 7/1/05. The factory is supposed to send a repair man to do the repairs, but havent yet. Some of the molding around the cabinets and on the island in the kitchen wasn't nailed very good, but besides that no other complaints.

A lot of damage happens with all manufactured hmes when the transport driver is speeding (goodness gracious) or the transport driver has to swerve to avoid hitting other drivers trying to pass alongside them. (selfish people). Not to mention, potholes, bumpy roads, etc...

I own a Indies House, 32x84. It's one of the best brands you can buy.

How do you feel the Indies Homes rate in comparison to other Manufactured Homes out there. Looking at a 28 x 70 and was wondering whether it qualified as a modular. Have you had any major problems with yours?

Beware of the time it takes to get a home ordered from Indies. I paid 10% down and ordered my Indies home ten weeks ago and they still do not have a production date. I know there are no loan problems since we are paying cash.
Part of the problem could be the dealer, but we picked out our interior and exterior color, carpet and tile choices and gave them direct to the Indies sales-rep about eight weeks ago. This home should have been produced by now and I'm still waiting. I'm about ready to cancel my order and have my lawyer deal with them.

Paul...many of the plants in Northern AL are running 12 to 15 weeks behind in schedule right now because of the beginning of the Katrina replacement home rush just starting to happen..
