I agree with a couple others I've read about here! Beware of Oakwood,They are cheaply made and mine is a 1998 and it already has major problems.Their service department is awful,now I don't think it will still be standing when it's finally paid for.Is there a lemon law for mbl.homes or some other remedy or action we can take?Please contact me if you have any info.

Palm Harbor Homes are not any better you pay more and get the same. Our home is a year old and the tile floors are coming loose.

Palm Harbor warranty excludes cosmetic features after the home is delivered and an initial walk through is done..I am sure they consider this as cosmetic...I am also sure these things were reviewed with you at the time of purchase....This is a requirement of the dealer by the manufacturer..
No manufacturer can effectively service small cosmetic claims over a long period of time...Ecomomics makes it impossible to run 2 men hundreds of miles to repair a $50 item..
That said...Most manufacturers are interested in consumer relations..Call the service manager of the plant you bought from..the number is in your owners manual..Discuss the problem and possible remedies and causes...If there is truly a problem with tile installation in many homes they will want to know and be willing to help..Your manual also has a contact information for Mr. Lee Posey..the CEO of the company..write or call and ask advise..you might be surprised..

I have found that through research and information recieved from the subfloor and Tile manufactures that they both require backerboard to be installed. I have also found through conversation with Sean downing regional V.P for Palm Harbor all they want to do is a patch job. They just want to get by until the warranty runs out. You might consider it cosmetic but try walking on loose tiles that were improperly installed. I have also recieved threatening letters from their attorney Eric Lindstrom from Texas. If you can forward me how to get in touch with the CEO I will try that. Right now I would urge people to stay clear of Palm Harbor Homes.

One more I item I forgot to include is that estimates from three tile companies to properly repair the tile floor is not a mere $50.00 but, $5,600.00 plus us not being able to stay at our house for a least one week while repairs are done.

I hate my Oakwood Home! It's a 1999 and the roof has to be replaced as well as the interior walls and some of the floor boards because of water damage from the cheap tin they put as a roof. The service Department says thay can not do anything about the problem. Any Ideas that can help please e-mail me.
