Hello; Anyone out there that has actually purchased a Palm Harbor home from the Louisville/Knoxville location? If so please e-mail me and let us know about everything if you would. Sales-quality of product-especially set up for a double wide. Thanks so much for all info. Dave W.

Hi, We bought ours in 2001 from a dealer in Fl. and I think it came from a Ga. plant. The set up was trouble free. I was dissapointed to find out that the carpet and padding were not the highest grade that we had ordered and there were also a couple of decorating items that were left in, instead of being removed. We ordered ours w/2x4's and 2x6's in the walls and they said that they had broken two axles just bringing it down here, it was so heavy. As far as how it has held up, all the closet shelves eventually fell down and had to be redone w/heavier brackets. The oak face cabinets have lost a few of their screws and the ceramic tile in the kitchen has a couple cracks. Other than that, we are happy w/it. When Hurricane Ivan came, we only lost the skirting and some porch ceiling fans a maybe one or two shingles. Other homes and shops near here were devastated. We also have double paned windows which have not given us any trouble and it is very quiet, even in bad weather. We also have sheet rock walls and crown molding which we have had no problems with. Hope this helps

Your home would not come from GA..It would be built in the Boaz, AL plant...Probably the same as the one in the other post here...

Since 2001...closet shelf design has changed and plastic wall hanger have been done away with and replaced with metal...PH got tired of replacing shelves under the 5 yr protection plan...

Cabinet design changed since this other home was built..All cabinets now have European style hinges and no longer have screws in thew wood...

Thankfully there are no hurricanes in your neighborhood...but it is a nice peace of mind to understand yours would hold up well if there was one....If you can arrange with your Housing Consultant to visit the plant and take a tour....

When you order yours..be sure to carefully review the order confirmation...The home will be exactly like this...If not the plant will take care of the error...The other posters dealer (not Palm Harbor owned) probably did not review this closely with them...Hence the misunderstanding of the carpet...

Ask your housing consultant for referrals in your area..to be sure you are confident in the set up crew.....

Go For It before prices go up any more..
