outside entry 1985 ritzcraft

I have purchased this home and the outside door step was carpeted at
assembly. it has deteriorated, and needs replacement.

has anyone done this?
what materials were used and how di you do it?
are there alternative materials used?
any other solutions?

Most folks replace this with Astro turf type stuff..available at Lowes or Home Depot....A small peice does not cost much....

There should be EPDM rubber under it - check to make sure that's in good condition - replace it if necessary or if unsure how much longer it will last. Then, you could put down whatever you like- a tiny cedar deck, outdoor carpeting, whatever suits your fancy. If the landing itself has rotted, you may also need to do a bit of structural work first, but that should not be hard to do, to tie in to the existing structure. Try the other forum for specifics on that.
