We bought land that has a double-wide already on it. It seems to be built like a house, with 2x4 studs and sheet rock. Couldn't tell from the inside that it is a manufactured home.
1. Is it possible to put a permanent cement or brick or rock skirting on something that is already parked? I'm not talking about that simulated rock skirting, I'm talking about the real thing.
2. Is there any such thing as turning this into a regular house to get out from under the "manufactured home" stigma we get from the insurance crowd?
3. Anyone ever put any additions on a manufactured home? Any problems in doing that?

Re: skirting
I've see people pour a foundation and fill from there up to the bottom of the home with cement block. I think that they still put a layer of treated wood between the last row of blocks and the home. It will always be a manufactured home, though. Nothing wrong with that. There is one just south of town right now that they are doing like that. You would have to check with your local building inspector and see what they think.
Re:Screen Blocks
We have just put a new manufactured home on our lot in our retirement community.
It is on a permanent foundation and we are pouring concete and adding blocks but need screen blocks for ventilation purposes on the top layer. I cannot locate where to find/buy these decorative blocks. Can you provide a supplier and/or send pictures of the various types of screen blocks. We would like something stylish to
enhance the foundation. We live in Camarillo, CA. Thank you.
