I have been looking at Skyline mh in Kissimmee fl and was wondering if anyone has any info as too the quality of these homes. The dealer I talked with said the base price range was about 75,000-80,000.that was without tax or site prep package which would run about 25,000 for driveway, shed, screen room etc.He also said that they require 50% down with order,25% on delivery and 25% after inspection walk , does down payment seem out of line?
I also asked about floors being plywood and he said they were, but when looking at factory tour on net they indicated that they use Novadeck. This dealer also said they could be built and delivered in 2 months tops, wondering if this is so, since I understand Jacobson and House of Merit are 6 - 8 mo out. If Skyline is puting homes out this fast is the quality there? Thanks for any info.

Skyline has always put out a well constructed product and been the long time industry leader in customer satisfaction. They do offer plywood floors as an option that is well worth the additional cost.
I cant comment on the price breakdown as I am not familiar with the assiciated costs in your market, but they don't seem out of line. A visit to a few other dealers should give you a good comparison.
The lead time needed to get a home from the factory today in Florida has nothing to do with the quality of the home. It takes no more than just a few days, from start to finish, to build ANY brand or size manufactured home. The difference in time is due to a greater backlog of orders at one factory then the other.
Due to their popularity Skyline has 2 factories operating in Ocala, Florida at this time. Ocala is only a few hours from Kissimmee. Ask the dealer to arrange a factory tour. I think you will be very impressed.

Re: Skyline homes fl
I owned one of skylines concept 2000 homes. I was very impressed with the quality of the home. It was solidly built and did not have the feel of a mobile home. It is very important that they dealer you use also has a quality minded business. It is very important that the proper support be given to the home. My home was brought up the back side of a hill being pulled by a tractor. Our home didn't get the first crack in the plaster. I had a couple of minor problems with the vinyl on the floor which they addressed quickly and professionally. I would buy another one in a heart beat.
