Call either Oakwood or Greentree. Both of these companies have been in Chapter 11 (I think they both may still be in Ch. 11). A solid requirement of any Ch. 11 is that the debtor must unload non--performing assets (read "vacant properties") so the money gained from these can be used to fund the Ch. 11 plan and permit the company to emerge from bankruptcy with a solid financial foundation.
Most of the trailers they will want to sell will be either in parks or in their company-owned storage lots. Several years ago I negotiated a purchase of 6 trailers directly from a Ch. 11 company for a total of $10,000. It can be done and you don't need a dealer's license to do so.
You can also call trailer parks where they have abandoned trailers that are accruing unpaid lot rent. The park owners will be grateful if you take them off their hands for pennies on the dollar.
Do some research and investigating of your own. Get intimately involved in the transactions you are attempting to make. The more you educate yourself about what you are trying to do, the less likely you will be taken advantage of.
Good luck.

Re: Wholesale New Dealer
Interesting advice...but Oakwood is no more...all the assets were distributed by the BK court to Clayton Homes....
Greentree has never been in BK.....Greentree of old was sold to Conseco Insurance years ago...Conseco did file BK..The courts sold all the manufactured home assets also to Clayton Homes....
This buyer will have to find other sources.....
